In honor of Truck Driver Appreciation Week, we wrote a special letter to the men and women who help our society thrive
Have you ever stopped to think about what would happen if one day trucks went away? Well, we can tell you the impact would be felt instantly, and it wouldn’t be good. Within 24 hours, hospitals would begin running out of the supplies they need to treat patients and save lives. Gas station lines across the United States would be miles long with drivers willing to pay outrageous, skyrocketing prices to fill their tanks before a gas shortage set in. From there, things would only get worse, and within four weeks, the United States would be out of safe drinking water. Without the 3.5 million+ men and women who drive trucks, our society would completely collapse. (Source)
Each year in September, we celebrate National Truck Drivers Appreciation Week. At LYNC, we feel that every week should be Truck Driver Appreciation Week. Our team is honored to serve both carriers and drivers, and we want to remind truck drivers everywhere that we are here for you. You all are the “LYNC” that holds the supply chain together when it comes to getting goods from shippers to consumers. To put it in perspective, you all collectively travel close to 450 billion miles transporting over 11 billion tons of goods each year according to CNET. You all are the “LYNC” between getting goods from the ports to their destinations. Planes and trains can only transport things so far. You all have to carry them the rest of the way.

We know that your hard work goes unnoticed by many, but we promise to always value you and your contributions. Saying thank you will never be enough, but we will never stop saying it. Thank you, truck and delivery drivers, for everything you do to help our society thrive. From spending long hours on the road and away from your families to covering more miles in a year than most people will in their lifetime, you all make sacrifices many will never understand.
